Our first "show"

Pass-Through Productions participated in it's first Deer & Turkey Spectacular last weekend at the Lansing Center in Lansing, MI. It was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone that stopped by and everyone that bought DVDs and PTP apparrel. We hope this was the first of many shows that we can attend, it's always fun to get out there and talk to folks that want to see real Michigan hunting at it's finest and sometimes at it lowest... We will continue to work hard to bring you great footage of what our Michigan outdoors provides us with. Thanks again for the support and please check out the website often as we are uploading new video clips periodically throughout the year.

Remember: Our 2009 deer season DVD, "Just Passin' Through Vol. II is now available!

We also have some great looking t-shirts available, check website for prices!

Tis' Doe season...

The does are piling up for PTP. We are doing are part in getting Michigan's backwards buck to doe ratio in check. Kyle Bowen shot 2 big does last week. Chad Gruden has shot 3 does this late season. Great job guys keep up the good work! Yesterday I (Todd) got the pleasure of processing one of the does my cousin Kyle shot. I forgot how fun it is to get out the knives and the cutting boards, turn on the radio and turn a deer into venison. It was a little tougher to skin since it had been sitting outside for 4 days, she was a little frozen. But it was fun nonetheless! It's a good feeling to process your own deer and it's not that hard once you've done a few. So if you want to save yourself some money, try processing your own deer this year. Finish the season strong!

What a season so far!!!

As of today, 12-16-09, Team Pass-Through has 7 buck kills on film and 11 doe kills on film. Not a bad year considering the overall feeling of a slow season. Most of our successful hunts happened early in the season. In fact 90% of these hunts were before our crazy MI gun season opened in mid Nov. Since then deer sightings have decreased significantly. But, we can hunt until Jan. 1st and we will do just that. There were several prostaff members out tonight. Jake and Brandon connected on a big doe that was on her way to a cut corn field. As with everyone else, this is our strategy during the late season, it's no secret, hunt food sources and eventually you will see deer. One of the biggest obstacles is staying warm, but with today's clothing technology and those handy little hand & toe warmers you should be able to sit for a few hours pretty comfortably. Stay warm and be safe and good luck!

It's getting hotter!

Two more deer on the ground for Team Pass-Through! Jake Grevenstuk shot a nice 7 point last Saturday and I shot a doe on Sunday. The weather was much nicer than the first 2 weeks of the season. Katie and I saw 6 bucks and 25 does last Friday night on our property in West MI. I think we might have a buck/doe ratio problem, although all of the hard work we put into foodplots this year is definately paying off! We'll keep you posted on how this weekend turns out for Team Pass-Through. Good luck to all and be safe!

And so it begins......

COLD, RAINY, WINDY... Sound familiar? To date, these three words describe our Michigan Archery season. We have 3 nice 8 points on the ground thanks to Brandon Leep of K-Zoo, Chad Gruden up in Ithaca and Sean Adams in Gratiot County. Check out the website to see pics. Austin Boersema and I have been out a half dozen times and have seen a lot of does, no antlers. On the other hand, Katie and I went out last weekend and saw 3 different bucks, one of which was a nice, young 8 point. Maybe she's the lucky charm! I'll keep you updated on the rest of the season, I promise! I apologize to those who check this out for how long it's been since the last update. Good luck to all and be safe!

Trail Cameras

Trail cameras have obviously brought scouting to a whole new level. I run my cameras year round to monitor what is going on and see what the deer are doing on my hunting property. You can also observe when bucks loose their velvet and when they drop their antlers. Over the next month is the most exciting and most anticipated time to have trail cameras set up. All of the bucks have formed their antlers and you are able to differentiate between bucks. It's neat to try and count how many different bucks you get pictures of or in how many different spots on the property you can get pictures of the same buck. As far as patterning movement this time of year, I don't count on it. That's for later on. It's also cool to catch a doe with her fawns on the cameras. I check my cameras once a month, usually on the 1st just so it's easy to remember. It's extremely difficult to stay out for 30 days when I know my cameras are taking 100's of pictures, but I do this to limit my scent that is left near the cameras while switching SD cards. I can also file them all on my computer by the month. If you don't have a trail camera, I highly recommend grabbing one, you will become addicted, I can almost guarantee it!
