Tis' Doe season...

The does are piling up for PTP. We are doing are part in getting Michigan's backwards buck to doe ratio in check. Kyle Bowen shot 2 big does last week. Chad Gruden has shot 3 does this late season. Great job guys keep up the good work! Yesterday I (Todd) got the pleasure of processing one of the does my cousin Kyle shot. I forgot how fun it is to get out the knives and the cutting boards, turn on the radio and turn a deer into venison. It was a little tougher to skin since it had been sitting outside for 4 days, she was a little frozen. But it was fun nonetheless! It's a good feeling to process your own deer and it's not that hard once you've done a few. So if you want to save yourself some money, try processing your own deer this year. Finish the season strong!

What a season so far!!!

As of today, 12-16-09, Team Pass-Through has 7 buck kills on film and 11 doe kills on film. Not a bad year considering the overall feeling of a slow season. Most of our successful hunts happened early in the season. In fact 90% of these hunts were before our crazy MI gun season opened in mid Nov. Since then deer sightings have decreased significantly. But, we can hunt until Jan. 1st and we will do just that. There were several prostaff members out tonight. Jake and Brandon connected on a big doe that was on her way to a cut corn field. As with everyone else, this is our strategy during the late season, it's no secret, hunt food sources and eventually you will see deer. One of the biggest obstacles is staying warm, but with today's clothing technology and those handy little hand & toe warmers you should be able to sit for a few hours pretty comfortably. Stay warm and be safe and good luck!
